Adaptive Track & Field - Run, Roll, Jump or Throw

Track and Field (aka: Para Athletics) was a part of the first Paralympic games in Rome in 1960 and one of the first sports in the inaugural Angel City Games at UCLA in 2015! Adaptive track events include both ambulatory racing and wheel chair racing. Field athletes can participate standing or in a throwing chair. The big difference with adaptive T&F is the classification process which includes a physical and technical evaluation for each athlete to then be assigned to a category depending on their diagnosis and abilities. The reasoning for classification is fair competition between all participants and includes categories of visually impaired, ambulatory and seated athletes.

The next Angel City Sports Track & Field Clinic is coming up in early 2018. To support our efforts to bring more adaptive Track & Field and more sports to the SoCal disability community please donate to Angel City Sports at
