Judo for the Blind and Visually Impaired

In the sport of Judo, when something blocks your path, step aside and move around it. This is one of the many amazing lessons Judo offers for the blind and visually impaired. Judo is uniquely adaptable for those with a visual impairment - in fact, there's no adaptation to the sport other than notification when the judo player has stepped out of bounds. Most blind and visually impaired judoka train with sighted athletes.

At the elite level, blind judoka competing for the US Judo team won Paralympic medals many years before the Olympic team reached the podium. And Paralympic Judo is open to men and women who are visually impaired.

Angel City Sports is adding more sports for the blind and visually impaired in 2018. Please join us by supporting our Fall Fundraising Drive at http://bit.ly/AngelCitySports2017 - EVERY DONATION THRU 10/31 WILL BE MATCHED, DOLLAR FOR DOLLAR!
