Episode #2 - Courtney Ryan

Courtney is a 31-year-old wheelchair basketball Paralympian. She is a member of Team USA and is on the hunt for her first gold medal in Tokyo. Courtney was an All-American Soccer player for the Metropolitan State University of Denver. During her junior season, Courtney was side tackled during a game - when her back hit the field, a blood clot burst on her spine, and she collapsed as a paraplegic.

In her own words, Courtney is "a steadfast advocate for adaptive athletics and a hardcore woman." She is the co-founder of The Shield-Maidens women's wheelchair basketball team in Southern California - the only women's team in the area - and is sponsored by PER4MAX Wheelchairs.
